Electric Arc Furnace Operator

Job description / Role

- Carries out duties assigned by the supervisor according to production requirements.
- To ensure sufficient availability of machinery, consumables and tools required for smooth running of the furnace
- Ensure that the process parameters set up on the operator work station is in accordance with the process sheets or instructions of the supervisor.
- In case of any abnormalities observed during execution of work, inform the supervisor and seek guidance.
- To ensure that the bins & hopper have the required quantity of materials required to carry out smooth operation of the plant
- To monitor and analyze the trends and alarms that appear on the HMI and take necessary countermeasure by informing the supervisor
- Constantly communicates to DR control room & LF/CC control room to ensure smooth processing within the melt shop.
- In case of an emergency or fire notifies the Fire & safety department.
- Ensures that all safeties in the furnace and ladle furnace are working, abides by the company policy to confirm to safety regulations.
- Ensures that work area is clean and free of any obstacles or encumbrances.
- Ensures the effective implementation of operational policies covering all areas of the refractory work so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a cost effective quality product to RM operation.
- In case of an emergency situation, co-operates with the supervisor and acts in accordance with the operational procedures/work instructions

Requirements

- Sufficient Technical knowledge of furnace and melting parameters
- Good Planning Skills
- Time Management

Minimum Education Qualifications (Must Haves)
- Graduate in science

Any preferred professional training (Nice to have)
- In-depth technical knowledge of Melting applications using DRI and problem solving
- Good knowledge of computer application and data analyzing

Professional Experience (Must haves)
- Around 5-10 Years in a Steel Plant as a control room pulpit operator

Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations (Nice to have)
