Engineering Technician I, Calibration Technician, RF/Microwave

Performs repair, calibration, and modification of the wide variety of complex precision measurement equipment utilized by GOK agencies. This discipline includes the following measurement areas: impedance, attenuation, directivity, power, frequency (above 500 MHz), phase, pulse code modulation, VSWR, noise, sensitivity and gain. It encompasses the repair, calibration, or modification of items such as waveguide/coaxial frequency meters, RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers, TACAN test sets, waveguide and coaxial directional couplers, RF power meters, VSWR indicators, slotted lines and other complex RF/microwave equipment. Typically, this knowledge would have been gained by the technician successfully completing a one-year certificate program in electronic technology from an accredited school or equivalent U.S. military training program. It is anticipated that Engineering Technicians will be assigned as these job descriptions state and other related specific tasking details and priorities will be determined and set by the Commander, KAFMB and communicated to the Contractor lead.

Associate's degree and three (3) years of work experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating RF/Microwave electronic precision measurement equipment and calibration laboratory reference standards.

Requirements

Requires working knowledge of the basic concepts of electronics and science; including; basic electricity, electronics, circuit theory, digital logic, algebra, and physic.

Completion of a U.S. military precision measurement and calibration program, a precision measurement and calibration school at an accredited school, or within a specialized calibration firm, and have four (4) years of work experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating TMDE, with one (1) year of the four (4) years of work experience in RF/Microwave section of a calibration laboratory.
