Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Responsible for managing the overall financial, accounting, budgeting and planning functions of the Bridge Co. in order to ensure that all financial accounting statements, management accounting reports and budgets are prepared timely and accurately in accordance with established policies & guidelines as well as International Accounting Standards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Strategy Formulation:
- Develop the Finance Department’s strategic objectives and KPIs and ensure all employees are working towards achievement of these objectives.
- Review the operating results of the Finance Department and follow-up to ensure appropriate measures are taken to correct insufficient results.

Budget and Cost Control:
- Manage the preparation of the budget forms, models and templates to be used by the departments in the budgeting process.
- Manage the consolidation of the annual budget including capital expenditure, operating expenditure, and manpower planning budgets, along with effective implementation and compliance to the approved budget (tracking, variance analysis, reporting, etc.).
- Recommend enhancements to the budget techniques and procedures and prepare comparative analyses studying proposed changes in budgeting methods and materials.
- Compare and analyze plans and forecasts with actual results in order to determine the department’s financial status.

Policies and Procedures:
- Develop, provide recommendation and Implement the Finance Department’s policies and the set procedures in order to achieve the department’s objectives.
- Communicate and discuss the Finance Department’s guidelines and procedures with employees to ensure responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities are defined and understood.

Financial Management:
- Manage the development & approval of a sound financial plan and annual budget guidelines, standards, time schedule and assumptions for the purpose of managing the financial and physical capital of The Bridge Co. in accordance with the division’s strategies and overall objectives.
- Provide accurate, comprehensive, and timely information regarding the financial status of The Bridge Co. through the utilization of effective accounting concepts, principles, procedures, and systems.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Finance department by providing expertise and aligning work processes in order to achieve high performance standards, achieve established targets and objectives, and ensure employee engagement in a motivated work environment.
- Oversee verification of contract documentation to ensure clarity of payment terms and other financial terms are in line with business objectives.
- Manage the preparation of feasibility studies, financial modeling & valuations, financial projections, and other type of financial analysis to support decisions related to new business ventures in collaboration with the Business Development department.
- Manage the preparation of financial models/projections to support the financial planning process (as requested).
- Manage the consolidation of financial information for The Bridge Co. detailing assets, liabilities, capital, balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other documents; as well as the cost and revenue allocation, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Payroll accounting activities to summarize current and projected company financial position.
- Review financial statements entries to general ledger accounts, cost centers and documentation of business transactions and analyze financial statements, regulatory and economic information, and financial periodicals.
- Identify and manage financial risks (e.g. interest rate and exchange rate risks) that can affect the operations of the business.
- Ensure all financial transactions are executed in compliance with the regulatory requirements, taking into considerations all risks identified in the transactions.
- Approve payments and cheques as per approved limits and manage the period-end close process, ensuring its completion in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

- Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
- Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting would be an advantage.
- Minimum of 8 – 10 years of experience in the same or related field.

Financial System
- Oversee the updated financial planning and reporting functions, sales budgets and other financial information in the supporting IT system.
- Review budgeted sales, validate edited budgets and ensure that new budgets are updated on the system continuously.
- Perform ad-hoc and other duties related to the job as assigned by the Direct Management.

Continuous Improvement
- Manage and oversee inputs and recommended continuous improvement of The Bridge Co.s’ practices, taking into account ‘international best practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans in accordance with Kuwait’s rules and regulations.
