Highway Expert

Job description / Role

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Highway Expert will be in charge of both Design and Construction activities; in addition to the direct involvement with the office of the Assistant Undersecretary.

Review and evaluate the current practice being used at both Design Department and Construction Department.

Prepare in coordination with other team members of the Executive Board; the Master Plan / Project Execution Plan (PEP).

Compile necessary reporting for Highways status in terms of design progress and construction activities.

Explore and recommend new construction methodologies and feasibility of implementation of the methods.

Establish standards for Constructability reviews and Contractors Performance Reviews and Reporting System.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University preferably with Professional Engineering Registration / MICE from recognized Professional Institution.

Minimum 20 years diverse experience in planning and design of large size infrastructure and transportation project.

Must have a strong technical background, with adequate design and construction experience and thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.

Must have very good presentation and communications skills to deal with internal as well as external clients.

Must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.

Candidates must be proficient in English both written and oral. Arabic language communication skills would be a plus.
