Job description / Role
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Apply government warehousing systems and processes to their daily duties.
- Apply warehousing terminology, measures, concepts and principles.
- Ensure that all associated administrative procedures are current and audit ready.
- Periodically audit completed work.
- Prepare and maintain reports.
- Maintain an accurate physical inventory and quality control.
- Prepare shipping part numbers according to established procedures and appropriate regulations.
- Interface with appropriate personnel or management to resolve systems and operations issues.
- May handle hazardous material such as batteries and generator fuel.
- Receive all incoming shipments. Plan for and oversee unloading and handling of goods. Reconcile the goods received against purchase orders and shipping documents. In the absence of shipping documents, create necessary documentation to support items received. Count, weigh, or measure all receipts and receiving inspections, identify and document discrepancies.
- Ensure proper identification of received goods and their storage location.
- Maintain auditable records of received and issued items, shortages, damaged or non-conformance issues, records maintenance data and warranties necessary for documenting the material control processes.
- Ensure goods are properly stored, secured, protected, and maintained according to manufacturers and government standards as required to preserve warranties and protect against damage and loss.
- Prepare outbound shipping documentation and instruments to transfer care, custody, and control of the goods being shipped.
- Ensure proper packing, bracing, placarding and documentation for all outbound shipments.
- Maintain records of on-hand inventory, perform cycle counts and otherwise verify the accuracy of physical inventory.
- Prepare warehouse requests; remove goods from storage for authorized consumption and utilization; bags, tags, and otherwise prepare goods for issuance; make the goods available at the point and time of need.
- Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years compiling and optimizing logistics and maintenance information and at least 3 of these years spent using Army logistics databases and solutions; experience with the procurement, maintenance and transportation of military supplies, materiel, facilities, and personnel.
- Must have an active SECRET US Government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to maintain a SECRET clearance.
