Teaching staff members are provided with a round-trip ticket, booked on a yearly basis at the end of each academic year, to their destination of origin. This extends to 1 dependent (child/non-teaching partner).

Tuition benefits:

One child (PK-12) dependent tuition paid per teaching contract, enrolled in ASK.

Medical insurance:

Access to a network of trusted medical providers where you can receive treatment on a direct billing basis, enjoying the convenience of around 15-20% co-payment at the time of your visit.

Dental insurance is provided as well with different coverage relevant to the type of service.

Setting in allowance (welcome allowance):

An amount of 200 KWD is paid to teaching staff to help adjust in their initial stage.

Moving allowance (baggage allowance):

200 KWD for single teacher

300 KWD for single contract and one dependent

Job description:

Must develop engaging lesson plans and foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment to encourage academic, social, and emotional development of the young students typically in grades K-2, across multiple basic subjects such as reading, writing, and math.

Core duties and responsibilities

Instruction and curriculum:

  • Create and deliver age-appropriate, interactive lesson plans that align with American/national school standards.
  • Instruct students in fundamental subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, with their different learning abilities and differences.

Classroom management:

  • Establish clear classroom rules and expectations to ensure a safe and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Implement effective behavior management strategies that teach children proper conduct and reinforce positive social skills.
  • Supervise students during non-classroom activities, such as lunch, recess, and school events.

Assessment and reporting:

  • Create, administer, and grade assignments, tests, and homework.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to observe and evaluate students' abilities, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Provide regular and timely feedback to parents and guardians on their child's academic and behavioral progress and potential.

Collaboration and communication:

  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, support staff, and the principal to evaluate curriculum and discuss initiatives.
  • Engage with parents and the broader school community to support student well-being and learning.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and extracurricular school events.

Administrative tasks:

  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and grades.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain teaching materials, resources, and classroom supplies.

Qualifications and skills

Educational requirements:

A bachelor's degree in elementary education or a related field is typically required.

Essential skills:

  • Communication: Clearly and effectively convey information to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience and empathy: Respond compassionately to students who may be struggling with new material or behavioral challenges.
  • Creativity and resourcefulness: Design engaging lessons and inspire a love for learning.
  • Organizational skills: Manage lesson plans, materials, and student records efficiently.
  • Adaptability: Adjust teaching methods to accommodate the needs of diverse learners and respond to changing classroom dynamics.
  • Leadership: Guide and motivate students in the classroom and during activities.
  • Technology literacy: Use modern educational software, learning management systems, teaching enhancement tools in addition to proficiency with Google Workspace.
