Job description / Role
Monitors the Project Management team for technical excellence, project allocation and workload and monitors the schedules and budgets of all building and infrastructure design projects.
Responsibilities:
• Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities and accountability of all Project Managers are defined and understood.
• Arranges for the preparation of reports concerning the progress of each project in meeting established cost and schedule targets and other contract commitments and insure that action is taken to correct off-standard performance and achieve contractual obligations.
• Maintains close collaboration with the Design Manager's concerning the organization and staffing of projects and keeps the project management function fully informed concerning the capability and performance of the architectural, engineering and drafting personnel assigned to projects.
• Develops IMS quality control procedures and monitors the use and application of such procedures for all project management activities on each project.
• Monitors the verification by the Project Manager that appropriate quality control procedures and checkpoints are observed and that project designs are responsive to and appropriate for the needs of the client.
• Ensures that staff utilization targets for the Project Management Team staff are met.
• Ensures that Project Managers comply with staff budgets and schedules.
• Provides assistance in the preparation of proposals.
• Assists and coordinates, in collaboration with the technical teams, in the definition of the scope of work to be performed within projects, developing the of cost estimates, cost standards and schedules to reflect the scope of the work involved.
• Provides technical support and presentations to clients when required
• Maintains good relations with clients in order to promote repeat business.
• Ensures the Project Managers use of Data Management Systems are adhered to correctly.
Requirements
• Relevant Bachelor's Degree (Architecture / Engineering), Master's level - desirable
• 15+ year post graduate experience with international Architecture / Engineering or Project Management Consultants experience required.
• Relevant Bachelor's Degree (Architecture / Engineering). Master's level - desirable.
• PMP certification.
• Eligible to register to a professional body (Origin/Local) - desirable.
• Managed a team of PCS engineers.
• Data Management Systems experience required (Deltek, SharePoint, HR. Net) - Advantageous.
• Experience working on multiple and large scale projects.
• Bilingual capacity in English and Arabic - advantageous.
