Projects Director - KOC PMC Contract
Position reports to:
Regional Director

Primary Objectives:
- To administer the PMC Contract and Organization to staff, co-ordinate and manage the design, procurement, construction and commissioning of large projects on behalf of the Client
- To ensure clear agreement of client objectives and that these are met or exceeded.
- To achieve or better the budgeted BEBIT.
- To provide strong One-way and HSE leadership
- Manage the Joint Venture partnership to the benefit of both Partners.
Specific accountabilities

The following apply as appropriate for the project scope:

1. Direct the Integration of the PMC with the Client
- Direct the implementation of all PMC support functions of project management.
- Direct the internal company environment to meet the needs of multiple large projects management

2. HSE Management:
- Work with the PMC Key Personnel to ensure that the One-way and HSE requirements are documented and understood by all organization participants
- Compliance with HSE procedures
- Maintain HSE focus for project duration
- Develop the One-way mindset

3. Client Relationships:
- Identify, document and communicate the client requirements
- Effective management of multiple Client stakeholders
- Maintain and build healthy client relationships throughout the Contract
- Proactively resolve performance, scope, cost and schedule issues with the Client as they arise, in conjunction with the Project Management Teams.

4. Commercial Management:
- Effective management of KBR/Client contract, including delivery of the Contract BEBIT
- Maintain a strong understanding and relationship with the JV Partner and synchronize joint interests.

5. Scope Management:
- Effective understanding of the Contract scope and requirements
- Compliance with requirements of the contract
- Effective change control process application
- Manage and monitor projects performance on an ongoing basis
- Effectively manages project interfaces, in conjunction with the Key Personnel.

6. Time Management:
- Direct the planning of all scope elements of the contract, with the support of the Key Personnel.
- Develop resource & financial requirements from the projects plans.
- Direct the Key Personnel to support the Client requirements to meet the project schedule
- Ownership of the project schedule
- Regular monitoring of the key reports.

7. Cost Control:
- Direct the planning and preparation of contract Project Performance Plans estimates.
- Establish cost report for control of projects.
- Monitoring and control of all cost aspects of the Contract to forecast costs, obtain Client approvals, identify and have Client approval of trends.
- Assess performance of cost control system & personnel.

8. Quality Management:
- Define the Contract quality requirements to support the ISO 9001 registration.
- Compliance with KBR policies and procedures.

9. Team Management:
- Provide clear and focussed leadership for the Contract Key Personnel to create a vision for Contract success and a strategy to fit that vision.
- Define roles and responsibilities, in particular the respective roles of the Project Director vis a vis the Key Personnel
- Focus Key Personnel on achievement of milestones and other key project objectives required by the Client.
- Listen to the team, discuss the issues, resolve problems and direct activities to remove roadblocks and achieve objectives.
- Participate in staff performance evaluations.
- Identify and implement training requirements

10. Communications Management
- Effective communications with the Contract team.
- Accurate, timely & effective progress reporting to the Client and internally to KBR management.
- Ongoing monitoring of the communication network between the Contract staff, the client and third parties and introduction of changes where required.

11. Risk Management:
- Identify Contract risks and opportunities.
- Monitor closure of all identified risks and opportunities.
- Maintain the risk management focus throughout the project duration.

12. FEED Management:
- Ensure that clear objectives set for the FEED team.
- Monitor FEED activities, interdisciplinary data flow and communications.
- Ensure incorporation of the Client's organization in FEED activities

13. Client Contracts Management:
- Ensure that clear objectives set for Client's Contract Management Team.

14. Construction Management:
- Ensure that clear objectives are set for the Construction Management Team.
- Monitor the Construction Management function to ensure safe delivery of the project within cost and schedule objectives.
Essential skills/experience
- Ability to administer a multi-cultural organization and Client Contract, with the direct supervision and coordination provided by the Key Personnel.
- Demonstrable commitment to One-way and HSE Management in a project environment
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- High level of customer focus
- Previous experience as a Project Director on a multi-project PMC managing projects on behalf of the Client with values of USD 1 billion each project

Requirements

Mandatory Requirements:
- Bachelor in Engineering degree
- minimum of 20 years total post graduation experience
- Minimum 10 years post graduation experience in oil and gas projects
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
- Minimum 5 years' experience with KBR
- Minimum 5 years' experience in ME
