Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Overview: To provide support the implementation, maintenance, monitoring and documentation of the QA/QC Programs for the Projects of the Company cost effectively in line with Company’s Integrated Management System and Contract Specifications.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and implement the project Quality Plan, Project Laboratory Plan etc., in coordination with QA/QC Dept. To ensure an effective quality management system with respect to Company IMS and Contract requirement are established in the project.
• To co-ordinate the document controls of technical submittals, drawings etc. with Project team and to ensure the QA/QC validation has been done, to ensure the issue, amendment and recall of controlled documents.
• To work as a front line engineer and to co-ordinate with all inspections, monitor the required tests and record inspections and tests made as per PQP and Contract specifications and attainment of quality requirement.
• Liaise with Client’s representative for conducting of day-to-day inspections of the project.
• Shall co-ordinate with the Project Manager/Site Agent regarding work performance and shall have the authority to stop in any area where discrepancies remain uncorrected, and shall cancel the stop work order or close-out the Non-Conformance Report upon satisfactory correction of noted deficiencies.
• Report to the QA/QC Manager (H.O) on the performance of the IMS in the Project and any need for improvement.
• Provide technical support to the Project Manager and necessary guidance to site staff in submission of material for approvals, inspection requests, shop drawings, preparation of Project Quality Plans, Schedules, As built drawings, O&M Manual, prepare & update quality records, drawing control etc.
• Assist QA/QC Manager in conducting internal quality audits as per the Annual Audit Plan as and when required.
• Analyze deviation, change of contract scope or delay, if required reschedule to meet target dates advising Project Manager for immediate action.
• To ensure that Non Conformance Report (NCR) are raised once the activities are deviated from the Contract Specifications or normal construction industry practices.
• Ensure that all testing equipment is provided, calibrated and maintained.
• Coordinate with the project staff to compile & maintain pertinent records of inspection and testing until the end of the contract and all pertinent records for retention, on completion of the project.
• Coordinate & minute Monthly Project Review Meetings (PRM), Weekly progress review meetings etc., discuss the agenda items in detail and forward the minutes to the QA/QC Department (Head Office) and to make the project team aware of the importance of recognizing potential problems and action them before they become critical.
• Reviewing completed work to verify compliance with specified contract requirements for format and contents.
• Conduct Internal Assessments on a regular basis and forward the reports to the QA/QC Department (H.O.) within 5 days of internal assessment.
• Prepare monthly QA/QC report in the approved format filling all relevant details and forwarded to QA/QC Manager (H.O.) before 5th of each month.
• Coordinate with CMTE Department for the requirements of Measuring and Testing Equipments and its calibration and maintenance.
• Carry out tests as required, ensure that test reports are prepared, circulated as required, properly filed and logged.
• Prepare Monthly Materials Reports and submit to the Project Manager. Review repetitive failures with the Project manager and propose / agree corrective measure.
• To co-ordinate the activities of third party testing laboratories (sub-contract) and site laboratories in conducting in-process testing and analysis to ensure that construction activities are in conformance with the project.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Minimum 10 years experience in the relevant field, with 5 years in a similar position.
• Experience in quality and project management systems implementation.
• Good knowledge in inspection and testing activities, laboratory functions (civil), quality control of construction process.
