Job description / Role
We are currently looking to hire a motivated Resident Engineer with consulting engineering environment experience. Our client is an award winning international Architectural practice who is acting as the client representative on an iconic project in Kuwait.
The successful candidate will work client side and will work closely with the main contractor and engineers. This is a key position for the successful delivery of the project.
Responsibilities:
• Liaise with the design office Engineer(s) when required.
• Ensure that works are being constructed to the latest construction and shop drawings.
• Monitor the Contractor’s progress of the works, and liaise with the Planning Engineer accordingly.
• Approve RFI's as received from the contractor, once reviewed and commented by the Engineer(s)
• Coordinate with the Contractor's Senior Construction Manager in charge of the work on a frequent basis to ensure that no issues are encountered.
• Coordinate with the Assistant Resident Engineer and discipline Engineers to ensure that the relevant sections of works are managed, supervised and inspected correctly.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare instructions, specifications, and reports and cost estimates.
Requirements
The incumbent should have over 15 years experience in High Rise and Mixed Use projects including GCC experience with strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts, CSI specifications, American & British codes & standards.
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
Have had experience working client side.
