Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Assist to implement the Div. /Project Health & Safety plan and its compliance to his Division/Project.
• Coordinate with Div. /Project Manager for the effective implementation of H&S Section of the company’s Integrated Management System in the Division/Project. (Ref: HS P1, P2 & W1)
• Shall co-ordinate with the Div. /Project Manager regarding work performance and shall have the authority to stop in any area where discrepancies remain unsafe, and shall cancel the stop work order upon satisfactory correction of noted deficiencies.
• Deliver safety induction courses for new staff and workforce at project/division level.
• Ensure regular site specific “Toolbox Talks” are delivered to all concerns which include subcontractor employees.
• Ensure emergency procedures are developed and implemented in conjunction with the DM/PM in accordance with company and/or client requirements.
• Monitor and report on the health, safety and environmental aspects of the project.
• Report to the HSE Manager (H.O) on the performance of HSE in the projects/division and any need for improvement
• Be responsible for reporting and recording accidents/incidents to HSE Department by Collecting and formulating data from projects for inclusion in the monthly management report.
• Perform regular site safety inspections and record/report the findings of any inspection for appropriate action.
• Liaise with sub-contractors and in particular their nominated site safety supervisors.

Coordinate with Site Engineer in advising the project management on:
• Improvement in existing working methods
• Legal requirements affecting safety, health and welfare
• Potential hazards before work starts
• Methods of safe working arising from new developments

Requirements

• Degree in Science or Engineering / or Diploma in Engineering with Industrial Safety Diploma or equivalent NEBOSH/ IOSH/ OSHA Certifications.
• Minimum 3 years in the Oil & Gas Construction or 5 years in Oil & Gas Operations
• Knowledge of Health and Safety management and administration.
• Conversant with all local and international regulations and best practice in the field of Health and Safety.
• Knowledge in OHSAS 18001 and/or ISO 9001 standard requirements and safety management systems in the construction industry.
