Client is a regional leader in architecture and design with a reputation for delivering some of the GCC's and MENA's most iconic projects. Their success has come from their commitment to quality design, having cultivated a client base of the region's leading private and governmental developers.

As part of their long term growth strategy, my client are looking for talented Senor Contract Administrator to work directly under the company's Head of Supervision. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and shape their career with the company as they work on some regions leading projects.

Objective:
To monitor all contracts on the project, ensuring that all parties involved in construction projects (Owners/Clients, Contractors/Sub-Contractors), are aware of and adhere to their contractual rights and obligations

DETAILED ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

OPERATIONAL
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and standards, applicable laws and regulations
• Attend tender openings and assist in recommending potential tender lists based on client requirements
• Liaise with the HoS on the development of project cost plans in order to provide clients with an estimate of construction costs (as and when required)
• Execute contracts for main contractors and sub contractors; amend standard contracts (e.g. FIDIC) to ensure that all contractual clauses reflect objectivity, transparency, and fairness in the contractual rights and obligations of all parties involved in construction projects
• Advise various parties on their contractual rights and obligations
• Monitor the performance of contracts at all times; ensure that main contract and sub-contract agreements are being executed in compliance with contract documents
• Negotiate contractual terms and conditions with contractors where necessary; assist in resolving any issues raised by contractors (e.g. time extensions, additional costs etc); make recommendations to the Head of Supervision as appropriate
• Review and prepare all incoming/outgoing correspondence on contractual matters
• Assist the Head of Supervision in the identification of project related risks (e.g. health & safety, commercial risks, reputational risks etc.); contribute to the development of measures to mitigate potential risks
• Establish a system for maintaining the project risk register, ensuring that this system is adhered to throughout the section across project implementation
• Assist Quantity Surveyors in preparing progress reports and in verifying costs in order to finalize monthly payment certificates
• Attend meetings (e.g. progress meetings, coordination and specially called meetings etc.) as and when required
• Ensure that effective Minutes of Meetings are maintained in order to document discussions raised at meetings
• Contribute to managing the health and safety of all on-site personnel (e.g. architects, engineers, construction workers etc.) by reporting any observed safety violations to the Resident Engineer/Head of Supervision and/or Safety Inspector (if available)
• Provide assistance, advice, and support to the Resident Engineer/Head of Supervision as and when required

PEOPLE MANEGEMENT
• Provide assistant contract administrators clear and concise instructions in order to avoid confusion, re-work and errors; follow up with staff to ensure compliance against requirements
• Participate in the appraisal of staff performance

Salary:
KWD 2,300 to 2,700 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.

Requirements

EDUCATION/QUALIFCATIONS
• Bachelors Degree in Quantity Surveying/Engineering
• Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors
or
• Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
• 18-22 years experience in Quantity Surveying and Contract Administration

TECHNO-FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES
• Knowledge of international and local construction contracts (e.g. FIDIC)
• Understanding on construction techniques and methodology
• Financial control skills
