Job description / Role
- Preparation of Subcontract tender documents and cost analysis / adjudications of their bids.
- Preparation of monthly subcontract payment certificates in conjunction with the Project quantity surveyor.
- Make sure the project quantity surveyors issue the monthly payment applications, monitor payments and chase cash.
- Ensure that measurement, variations and final accounts are properly managed and to ensure that these are agreed with the clients authorized representative and with own subcontractors
- To be contractually aware and to make sure that contractual matters are properly recorded and to assist the Project Manager or managing quantity surveyor with the notification thereof.
- Attend meetings with Subcontractors, Consultants or Clients as may be required to ensure that the Company's interests are protected.
- Initiate the financial / cost reporting in conjunction with the project quantity surveyor, project manager and guide them in these procedures.
- Ensure effective implementation of the commercial procedures on projects as per the Company Integrated Management System in order for it to achieve its ISO requirements.
- Ensure that all commercial reports are issued to Head Office / Commercial Manager within the stipulated time frame.
Requirements
- Degree / Diploma in Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- Minimum 10 year’s experience in the Field, 5 years in a similar position.
- Adequate knowledge in Quantity Surveying and Cost / Financial Reporting.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word, etc.
- Knowledge of other quantity surveying software packages would be ideal.
- Experience with Civil Infrastructure Projects, water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants etc.
