Senior Resident Engineer - Roads & Drainage

Job description / Role

We are looking for a Senior Resident Engineer to work on one of our major Road & Drainage programs in Qatar.

The main duties of the Senior Resident Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee assigned project.
- Generate and maintain a positive safety management culture across assigned project(s) and work collaboratively with contractors towards a zero harm environment.
- Act in the role of Engineer’s Representative.
- Generate ad-hoc/periodic performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain awareness of project(s) progress and support line management in the planning of staff mobilization and demobilisation accordingly.
- Maintain awareness of the commercial position of project(s) and lead a team in administering delivery contracts.
- Monitor and report contractors’ compliance with contract requirements
- Liaise with clients and contractors on a regular basis and build relationships
- Liaise with local Authorities when required
- Ensure project supervisory staff levels are satisfactory
- Advise on contractual and construction matters

AUTHORITIES:
- Instruct contractors in all matters that do not have an impact on cost/schedule and/or involve a departure from defined standards
- Directing subordinate members of the project teams, including Resident Engineers, Assistant Resident Engineers and other site staff in relation to the assigned work on the projects.
- Acting as Project Manager/Team Leader as and when required

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree (Engineering)
- Minimum of twenty (20) years postgraduate experience.
- Minimum of eight (8) years experience in major road/drainage project design or construction.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in in-ground infrastructure construction contract administration.
- Experience in supervising wet/dry utility installation and local roads construction preferably with interdisciplinary co-ordination.
- In depth knowledge of FIDIC
- Knowledge of QCS, QSDDM and/or international design standards.
