Job description / Role
Role profile:
The skin care specialist is responsible for delivering personalized, results-driven skin care services that enhance the guest experience and support Ulta Beauty's commitment to wellness and self-care. This role combines deep product knowledge, technical service expertise, and strong guest engagement skills to recommend tailored skin care solutions and help clients achieve their skin health goals.
Key performance areas include but are not limited to:
- Provide professional skin care consultations and services in accordance
- Recommend and sell skin care products aligned with the guest's skin concerns and goals
- Build lasting client relationships through follow-ups, personalized service, and education
- Support overall retail sales through product expertise, merchandising, and participation in store events
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and fully stocked treatment area at all times
- Stay up to date with the latest techniques, product lines, and industry trends
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety, sanitation, and licensing standards
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of skin physiology, common skin conditions, and corrective treatments
- Familiarity with professional-grade and retail skincare products and ingredients
- Awareness of current beauty and skincare trends
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in esthetics or skincare services, preferably in a retail or spa environment
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality services while driving retail sales
- Experience working with a variety of skin types and concerns
- Previous customer service or retail experience is preferred

- Excellent communication and consultation skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
- Passion for skincare and guest wellness
- Ability to manage time effectively and provide consistent, professional services
