Role profile
The training specialist is responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting learning initiatives that build associate capability, enhance performance, and drive an exceptional guest experience across Ulta Beauty stores. This role partners with store leadership, HR, and operations teams to implement effective training programs that align with business priorities and elevate our brand culture.
The key performance areas include but are not limited to:
- Facilitate onboarding and skills-based training programs for store associates and leaders
- Support rollouts of new systems, processes, and brand education across multiple store locations
- Collaborate with store and district managers to identify training needs and implement development plans
- Monitor training effectiveness through observation, feedback, and performance data
- Ensure all training content aligns with Ulta Beauty's service standards, brand voice, and business objectives
- Maintain detailed training records, schedules, and compliance documentation
- Act as a culture ambassador and role model for Ulta Beauty values and service expectations
- Participate in cross-functional projects and contribute to national training initiatives
Knowledge
- Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design
- Strong knowledge of retail operations, service culture, and sales techniques
- Familiarity with learning management systems and digital training tools
- Knowledge of Ulta Beauty products, services, and systems
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in training, learning & development, or store leadership
- Proven track record of delivering engaging training sessions and coaching teams
- Experience in retail, beauty, or service industries preferred
- Prior experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing without authority
Skills
- Exceptional facilitation and presentation skills, both in-person and virtually
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to assess needs, solve problems, and provide clear guidance
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and time management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual collaboration tools
- Bilingual skills a plus
