Purpose and Objectives

Purpose:
- Works as a member of the assigned site-based construction team in all aspects of the construction phase of the project and ensures that the project welding activities are in full compliance with standards and specifications.
- Ensure that top-quality work with a minimum rework is produced by confirming that all contractor welders are qualified by the client and all associated equipment is maintained at a level to prevent mechanical deficiencies.

Objectives :
- Keeps the Lead Construction Engineer informed on welding issues through specific daily activity reports on safety, progress, inspection and quality.
- Ensure that all associated safety measures and correct procedures are in place for radiographic inspections
- Cooperate fully with the client's discipline field representative(s).
- Maintains copies of reports with respect to welders and their assigned symbols, welds completed, radiographic inspection and weld repairs.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Witness welder performance tests for client qualification.
- Inspect field welds to ensure compliance with specifications for the level of quality required, and maintain surveillance over contractor welding.
- Monitor radiographic inspection, interpret films and request another destructive or nondestructive testing as required.
- Monitor the preparation and execution of post-weld heat treatment in accordance with applicable approved procedures
Essential skills/experience
- Review drawings, standards, specifications, etc for inspection requirements
- Perform QC inspection as required by the Inspection & Test Plan
- Generate all QC Inspection reports
- Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Matching indicators
- B.SC.Mechanical Engineering or Welding Technology related degree required.
- Minimum 10 Years total Mechanical design post graduation experience in the Oil & Gas industry
- Minimum 5 years experience in oil and gas industry
- Minimum 5 years experience in similar designation
- Holds Certification equivalent to BCN or CSWIP
- Must be qualified to at least Diploma level from a recognised technical institute in the relevant discipline.
