Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

NES Fircroft are supporting one of our Oil & Gas clients with 1 x Well Control Engineer & 1 x Well Control Specialists roles in Kuwait.

These are permanent full-time opportunities, and you will be working a one month on / one month off rotation throughout. Our client is offering an attractive package, which includes an in-country day rate during your rotation, plus business class flights from your home country.

In order to be considered, you must have relevant experience in a similar role previously, along with an OGUK Medical & Well Control Certificate (IADCIWCF). 

Key responsibilities - Well Control Engineer:

- Review daily drilling and workover reports and provide technical input for well control related issues
- Monitor operations / fingerprinting from a well control perspective
- Recommend well design changes to improve well control and testing procedures
- Provide periodic reviews of client's well control activity
- Capture well control lessons learned
- Participate in DWOP, CWOP and pre-spud meetings as requested
- Conduct well control equipment specification technical reviews, well control gap assessments & ongoing well control risk assessments
- Recommend targeted training for well control competency
- Support pressure control and well control operations
- First responder and support the well control team on major events
- Identify special services opportunities to rectify well problems
- Special assignments per Team Leads or Drilling Manager

Requirements

- Experience in similar role, Well Control Cert & OGUK Medical

Key responsibilities - Well Control Specialist:

- Conduct well control equipment pre-commissioning and operational audits
- Well control readiness drills
- Kick drill assessments
- Site well control competency & risk assessments
- Identify well control optimization & equipment testing optimization opportunities
- Identify special services opportunities to rectify well problems
- Support pressure control operations
- Manage minor releases in coordination with and assistance from Senior Well Fire Control Engineers
