Job description / Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Distribution Operations Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis and operational management, with a focus on costing, stock monitoring, and supplier correspondence. This role is essential for ensuring the efficiency and profitability of our distribution operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Costing of Goods:
• Analyze and calculate the cost of goods sold (COGS) to ensure accurate pricing strategies.
• Evaluate supplier pricing and negotiate terms to optimize costs.
Ratios and Financial Analysis:
• Monitor and analyze key financial ratios to assess business performance.
• Prepare regular reports on financial metrics for management review.
Contribution Margins:
• Calculate and analyze contribution margins for various products and categories.
• Recommend pricing adjustments based on margin analysis.
Stock Monitoring:
• Oversee inventory levels and ensure optimal stock availability.
• Implement stock monitoring systems to track product movement and identify trends.
Foreign Suppliers Correspondence:
• Manage communications with foreign suppliers, ensuring clarity and timeliness in all interactions.
• Coordinate with suppliers to resolve any issues related to orders or shipments.
Purchase Orders:
• Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of purchase orders and related documentation.
Shipments Tracking and Follow-Ups:
• Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery.
• Follow up with suppliers and logistics partners to resolve any shipping discrepancies or delays.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and inventory management software.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
