Job Description & Summary
A career in our Corporate Law practice, within Legal Services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients adopt a more strategic approach to global entity governance across their organizations. We help our clients and their legal entities with the incorporation of new companies, on-going compliance with local legislation, and restructuring of their global businesses to manage governance and compliance risks.

Our team possess extensive knowledge of local and national corporate law. You'll help our clients with a range of legal services including provision of support in choosing the type of company, drafting of corporate documents, contracts and the necessary assistance in the performance thereof, setting up companies, structuring capital, restructuring corporate governance, implementing changes to the legal structure, setting up joint ventures, and managing tax and real estate issues.

We are looking to hire an in-house Contract Review lawyer to handle a range of fast moving Commercial, Procurement, Human Capital and other issues in the Middle East. This is a demanding role and the likely candidate will have at least 6 months experience of commercial law in the Middle East, with knowledge of corporate law, contract review and drafting, employment law and an ability to work in the region and travel when necessary. Of equal importance are excellent communication skills, the ability to build relationships and the capability to determine strategy and influence negotiations in an innovative business environment.

Some experience of working at a law firm and/or for a regulator in the GCC is preferable.

The successful applicant will join OGC's Commercial group, working on a wide variety of commercial matters for PwC, other legal work, employment issues and advising the business on the implications of issues as they arise, reporting to PwC Middle East's General Counsel.
The role also provides the opportunity to be involved in and drive other commercial work and projects across the business.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have access to the broad range of training and developmental opportunities available to staff at PwC and will come in to a defined career structure.

• Detailed knowledge of the Laws in the Middle East, at least 6 months PQE (or equivalent) - time spent working in a law firm or in-house is an advantage but not a requirement
• Broad experience of advising on legal commercial issues
• Ability to handle complex negotiations using sound judgment to ensure that the firm's best interests are served
• Ability to gain a full appreciation of the wider reputational, commercial and business aspects to legal commercial issues
• Ability to tailor advice to the specific needs of the business and apply common sense and practical solutions in a fast moving environment with new challenges arising everyday
• Ability to adapt, to change and to be open minded and innovative in their thinking, while maintaining an international outlook
• Good legal drafting skills and the ability to flex communication style to suit a particular situation
• Sound judgment and well developed influencing skills, together with the confidence to work with senior management across the business
• An ability to build strong relationships and become a trusted advisor to the business
• Excellent Communication skills and fluent in both English and Arabic
