Senior Compliance Auditor - Tax - Lebanon

Cooper Fitch has been appointed by the UAE Federal Tax Authority as one of their recruitment and Human Capital partners for the VAT tax introduction in the United Arab Emirates and is recruiting for a Senior Tax Compliance Auditor.

The Federal Tax Authority is recruiting for a Senior Tax Compliance Auditor who would work on using research and strategic intelligence to develop compliance strategies and policies aiming at maximising tax compliance.

Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and coordinate the activities of the junior compliance staff.
- Manage and plan compliance analysis activities.
- Coordinate with the Head of Compliance Affairs Head to develop compliance and risk management strategies.
- Provide advice to junior compliance staff as required for complex compliance cases.
- Review compliance reports prepared by Analysts and Senior Analysts.
- Refer non-compliant cases to tax auditors to perform necessary inspections.
- Highlight cases of suspected fraud to the relevant stakeholders.
- Analyse and interpret compliance indicators.
- Liaise with Compliance Affairs Head to identify risk criteria.
- Support the resolution of any escalated compliance case.
- Report compliance activities to the Head of Compliance Affairs.
- Develop training material on taxable person responsibilities and share them with the Government Communication department.
- Manage training for junior compliance staff.
- Develop and strengthen staff competencies and capabilities in compliance.

Requirements

- 5 years experience in tax compliance
- Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field
- Preferred Master’s Degree and relevant qualification such as CPA or CTA
- Preferred experienced in a government entity
- Fluent Arabic (written and spoken)
