Senior Director of Transportation – Lebanon

Linum Consult’s client is a major construction consultancy, well-established in the Middle East. They are currently seeking an English & Arabic-speaking Senior Director specialising in Transportation projects for their office in Lebanon.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leading the delivery of roads and highways, transport planning, traffic engineering, airports, rail and mass transit, bridges and ports facilities design projects across the company’s offices
• Developing the strategic and business plans for the company’s transportation department, coordinating with regional management staff, and monitoring the department’s performance against the budget
• Reviewing all the transportation department’s investments in accordance with the budget
• Identifying and implementing cost optimisation initiatives within the transportation department in coordination with the Senior Vice President
• Acting as the company’s ambassador of transportation in the market, and contributing to enhancing the brand name and reach of the company
• Driving and leading the business development, proposals presentations, and marketing of the company’s transportation capabilities to clients, in cooperation with the Regional Managers
• Ensuring client satisfaction with transportation design deliverables and providing high-quality transportation design services to internal counterparts in the company

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering from a reputable University, with a Master’s or PhD in Engineering or Business Administration
• PMP certified and Chartered Professional Engineer certification
• Previous experience of working for top tier regional or multinational engineering consultancy companies
• At least 20 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a history of working on transportation construction projects, such as roads, highways, airports, rail, mass transit, bridges, or port facilities
• Minimum of 10 years’ management experience, with excellent business development skills and a history of liaising with governments/municipalities
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic, with any French or Portuguese skills an added plus
