Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Assisting the Corporate Legal Counsel in analyzing, managing, and advising on diverse legal and compliance matters
Advising on IT law related matters such as software development agreements, software licensing, e-commerce regulations, and data security and protection
Advising and supporting SABIS® management on Intellectual Property Rights related matters such as trademark registration, copyright protection, data and trade secrets protection, licensing agreements, IP infringements, IP issues arising from online matters and use of third party platforms. Senior Legal Counsel should also be able to manage the companies’ IPR portfolio, and to handle all related legal procedures.
Advising on legal matters pertaining to the following legal domains: labor law, corporate and commercial laws, international ventures and partnerships, etc.
Ability to work with little supervision in areas of primary responsibility and to report directly to Corporate Legal counsel whenever deemed necessary
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating all types of commercial contacts and notices to meet business and legal requirements and to achieve acceptable risk levels in accordance with internal approval processes.
Identifying and implementing approved contract policies and processes
Researching and evaluating different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations, preparing risk reports and ensuring effective legal and compliance risk management
Setting up companies locally, regionally and internationally; drafting and preparing all corporate legal documentation, and liaising with external lawyers in order to ensure the documents’ conformity with local laws whenever necessary
Assisting the Corporate Legal Counsel in the legal restructuring and engineering of the Groups’ companies
Reviewing, interpreting, and advising on legal documents in light of the applicable laws both locally and internationally
Assisting project managers in all matters related to the performance of the contracts and monitoring all related deadlines
Liaising with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.).
Reporting to Corporate Legal Counsel

Requirements

At least 6-7 years PQE in a legal practice and/or as an in-house legal consultant within a corporate setting
Bachelor of Law; Master’s Degree in Law is a plus.
Extensive experience in IT law and Intellectual Property Rights
Proficient oral and written communication skills in Arabic and English. French is a plus.
MS Office Skills particularly excellent skills in Microsoft Word Office and preparing presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint Office. Microsoft Excel is a plus.
High level of professional ethics and integrity
