Mechanical Rotating Engineer

Job description / Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Rotating Engineer to join our team in Libya. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of rotating equipment such as pumps, turbines, compressors, and other machinery. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining and optimizing rotating equipment performance.

Responsibilities:
- Design and review specifications for rotating equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Lead the installation, commissioning, and testing of new rotating equipment, collaborating with project teams and contractors to ensure successful implementation.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies for rotating equipment to maximize reliability and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with rotating machinery, recommending and implementing effective solutions.
- Conduct performance evaluations and condition monitoring of rotating equipment, analyzing data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide technical support and guidance to operations and maintenance teams, ensuring safe and efficient operation of rotating equipment.
- Participate in root cause analysis and failure investigations, identifying and addressing underlying issues to prevent recurrence.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to rotating equipment, incorporating new technologies and methodologies where applicable.

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree or professional certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of rotating equipment in industrial or energy sectors.
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment principles, including pumps, turbines, compressors, and associated systems.
- Familiarity with relevant international standards and codes such as API, ASME, and ISO.
- Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for analysis, design, and troubleshooting of rotating machinery.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing equipment performance issues.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in challenging environments and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in rotating equipment practices.
