Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This position is responsible for the overall operations of schools in the SEA region. The Regional Director is responsible for operational and service level excellence, business development, student growth, and strategic planning & implementation.

Responsibilities

Strategy Formulation & Implementation (20%)

* Develop the SEA region's strategic development plan in collaboration with key stakeholders (especially the Director International Division at the HO); ensure that such plan is in line with overall company strategy;
* Provide supervision and input into the translation of corporate education vision and long term strategy into tangible operational plans;

Oversee the development of the annual budget for SEA regional initiatives.

Business Development (40%)

* Develop and monitor annual student projections, implementing various controls and remedial measures where needed to achieve pre-defined targets across SEA;
* Supervise and ensure that all schools within the SEA Region are on track for meeting their student projections;
* Monitor and supervise the implementation of remedial action, where needed, to manage student withdrawals;
* Identification of business and expansion opportunities, existing and potential in the SEA region.
* Supervise effective screening, financial and competitive analysis, reporting and recommendations to the CEO.
* Develop and maintain relationships / PR / Liaison with key stakeholders in the education sector, especially regulators.
* Supervise the various models to be employed for revenue maximisation.

Operations Management (40%)

* Ensure the effective implementation of Financial, HR, Audit and other relevant functions within SEA Region, in line with Head Office guidelines and policies.
* Provide oversight and support to School Heads for the effective management of designated schools, especially with regards to business development and marketing initiatives;
* Ensure the implementation of suggestions in line with School Evaluation Unit (SEU) reports;
* Supervise the execution of uniformity in school based initiatives across the SEA Region.
* Ensure all complaints arising within SEA are dealt with appropriately and acted on immediately.
* Lead all accreditation and licensing requirements, ensuring all criteria are fulfilled and project is executed as per defined timelines.
* Provide oversight in the implementation of teaching and learning practices to ensure the effectiveness of student learning outcomes.
* Act as a bridge between the Head Office and the Region for effective implementation of strategy and initiatives.
* Recruit and train highly qualified resources with the potential to assume leadership positions at a later stage.
* Develop plans to help capitalise on individual leader strengths as well as plans to help them improve and address areas of potential growth with real time feedback.

Person Specification

* MBA in Operations Management and Strategy or equivalent qualification.
* At least 18 years of work experience, at least 5 years of which should be in a senior management position
* In-depth understanding of business development, marketing and PR.
* Knowledge of marketing, social media, public/media relations and sales.
* Thorough understanding of business planning and implementation of actionable plans.
* Operational understanding of financial analysis, forecasting modelling and reporting.
* Exposure to the above domains in an educational setting.
* Operational know-how of general accounting principles and practices.
* Familiar with operations of financial markets and institutions.
