The role

Health and Safety Manager - Luxury Hotel

Your responsibilities will include:

- Reviewing and updating OHS policy statement.
- Implementing and communicating of OHS policy.
- Reviewing and updating of environment policy.
- Implementing and communicating of environmental policy.
- Undertaking OHS project audits on behalf of the client.
- Undertaking environmental project audits on behalf of the client.
- Chairing and minuting OHS committee meetings.
- Managing the consultants with the discharge of their respective OHS obligations and monitoring performance.
- Managing incident reporting and investigations in conjunction with the principal contractor(s)/engineer.
- Carrying out independently regular site safety inspections. Recording observations and suggested improvements.
- Providing key point of contact regarding in house safety system, YellowJacket.
- Assisting with the implementation of QHSE policies, procedures, guidance notes and standards.
- Assisting with QHSE compliance registers in the country of operation.
- Assisting with audits for ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 and other applicable standards.
- Assisting in the creation and coordination of annual audits and inspection schedules for accounts, undertake and provide support for operational.
- Promoting the QHSE management systems to all staff.
- Identifying and communicating areas of improvement and best practice.
- Highlighting any risks and suggest mitigating corrective actions.

Requirements

The requirements

Your experience, knowledge and skills need to include:

- Proven experience managing projects from start to finish.
- Luxury hotel/hospitality project experience.
- International or island environment project experience.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills. Local language skills.
- Flexibility to travel to multiple regions to support any off site inspections.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Industry certified safety and health experience.
- Environmental management background.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.

Qualifications

- A degree/diploma in occupational safety and health management or equivalent.
- Member of chartered quality institute or equivalent.
