The Role
Commercial Manager – Island Hotel Project
Responsibilities Include
• Reporting to the Project Director, responsible for the commercial management of a 3 x Island Hotel project on reclaimed islands.
• Managing the delivery through the extended professional team of Local and International Consultants and Contractors.
• Application of Value Management techniques at the outset of a project involving existing protocols and systems.
• Managing the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including, pre- qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
• Ensuring that post contract cost variances, change control, cost checking and valuation processes are managed effectively.
• Ensuring the production of monthly post contract and cost reports and presenting them to the client.
• Final account negotiation and agreement.
• Taking a lead role in interfacing with clients, external and internal consultants at all project stages.
• To lead and motivate a multi-cultural team and ensure all commercial objectives are delivered.
It is essential that you can demonstrate a clear, systematic approach to solving complex issues and are able to communicate solutions in an effective, efficient, high level manner.
Requirements
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
• Experience managing FIDIC contracts is essential.
• Previous experience in High End Hospitality projects is essential.
• International work experience is essential.
• Experience working in Island environments is an advantage.
• Excellent technical grounding in all aspects of quantity surveying or commercial management are essential.
• Experience of advising clients on Value management, Value Engineering and Life Cycle costing.
• Experience leading pre-qualification / tendering, delivery and hand over of hotel projects is essential.
• Effective communicator, with excellent influencing and negotiating skills.
• Detailed knowledge and appreciation of Health and Safety is essential.
• Able to build and maintain key client relationships.
• Use of the Microsoft office suite of programs.
• Results and quality focused individual.
Qualifications
• Relevant Degree Qualification is essential.
• Professional Memberships are an advantage but not essential.
