JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

The Contracts and Commercial Manager will be responsible for overseeing the contractual and commercial aspects of a construction project in Bahrain. They will work closely with clients, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure that all contractual obligations are met and that the project is completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:
- Review and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Ensure compliance with all contractual terms and conditions
- Create and maintain a contract management system to track all project contracts
- Monitor project progress and identify potential risks and issues related to contracts
- Provide guidance and support to project teams to ensure that all contractual obligations are being met
- Manage all change orders and variations to contracts
- Prepare and submit progress reports and claims to clients
- Conduct regular audits of project contracts and identify areas for improvement
- Manage the commercial aspects of the project, including budgeting, cost control, and forecasting
- Collaborate with project teams to identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and subcontractors
- Resolve any contractual disputes or issues that may arise during the project
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and changes in contracts and commercial practices

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as construction management, engineering, or business
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry
- QS Background
- Strong knowledge of contracts and commercial management
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and contract management software
- Fluency in English is required, knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
