JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Company
• Our client is a leading regional asset manager, broker and investment bank in Bahrain. They are currently looking to recruit a Head of Compliance

Duties & Responsibilities
• Monitors that the company and its subsidiaries are in compliance with relevant CBB rulebooks (Volume 1, 4, 6& 7)
• Reviews and ensures that all regulatory returns are submitted to CBB before the due date in order to avoid any financial penalties by CBB for delays
• Updates the Audit Committee on the company’s compliance status by issuing quarterly reports to them
• Corresponds with CBB regarding the company and its subsidiaries
• Conducts periodic reviews on various departments to verify that they are in compliance with CBB rules, preparation of checklists for individual units.
• Visits the CBB website regularly to identify any new circular/consultation/updates issued, which may impact the company and its subsidiaries
• Issues independent monthly compliance reports for Discretionary Portfolio Management Account held by the Asset Management department
• Conducts annual review of compliance with Corporate Governance standards and Recommends best corporate governance practices to the Board
• Verifies compliance with Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, CRS and Reports to Regulatory authorities as required.
• Monitoring & review of client protection/interest
• Identifies any money laundering risk for the company by screening all accounts to be opened through online world check & perform KYC requirements as per CBB
• Screens all subscription/redemptions of the company Funds through online world check
• Accesses the OMNI system regularly to address alerts raised by the system on various transactions processed at the company and administer the OMNI system and making the new rules relevant for AML monitoring in the system
• Reports any suspicious transactions to Senior Management, the Board and CBB
• Conducts yearly AML trainings for relevant staff
• Prepares Annual report to Board on AML
• Reviews PEP customer transactions and risk rating
• Monitors the updates from CRU on accounts having inadequate KYCs.
• Supports Risk unit in capturing, analyzing and reporting of Operational errors as per documented KRIs, whenever needed.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications & Experience
• Age range: 30-45
• Nationality: Bahraini or GCC national
• Language skills: bilingual (Arabic and English)
• Qualification: B.SC; ACAMS and Certification in Compliance preferred.
• No. of years’ experience: 5 – 15 years
• Area of Expertise: Rulebook vole 1, 4, 6 & 7
