JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

PURPOSE: To achieve superior investment returns within the risk profiles of the clients and increase Assets Under Management (AUM) by offering niche and diversified sharia compliant investment opportunities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop the overall corresponding investment plans, and assets allocation
- Perform qualitative and quantitative research to select investments and communicating to the CEO a well-researched viewpoint of the economy and markets.
- Approve manager due diligence across asset classes and manage portfolio risk.
- Review and approving potential strategic diversified portfolio investment opportunities.
- Approve all investment processes and procedures.
- General Review on the trading of client accounts.
- Take a leadership role in decision making on investments in the fixed income and equity arena.
- Create and maintain a team of professionals (internal or external) to originate, analyze, finance, close, manage and sell investments.
- Lead underwriting and due diligence activities.
- Brief CEO, Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors upon their request on proposed acquisitions.
- Approve sources of debt financing relationships.
- Counter-check closing of transactions.
- Travel to secure deals in different investment opportunities.
- Perform any other duties as may be requested by management from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS

- Hold a relevant academic/professional qualification, preferably MBA, Masters in finance/accounting/economics or masters in any other subject,
- Preferably other qualification related to banking/accounting; and
- A minimum experience of 7 years in the banking/financial industry of which at least 5 years of experience in the same function that he/she will be heading

Have other relevant certification(s) specific to this role. Such certifications may, depending on the function being fulfilled, include but are not limited to:
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA);
- Certificate in Securities and Financial Derivatives
- Certificate in Investment Management;
- Professional Certification in Accounting; and/or
- Equivalent certificates or qualifications; and/or
- Advanced Diploma in Banking/ Islamic Finance (CISI/ESA) or Financial Advisory Program from the BIBF or other recognized institutions.

CORE COMPETENCIES
- A clear understanding of the role and responsibilities associated with the function;
- A good understanding of banking business and the wider industry and its regulatory environment; and
- The relevant experience and qualifications to fulfill his responsibilities.
