JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Supervision of all laboratory activities for a large professional ready mixed concrete manufacturer.
Duties include:
• Supervision of crushing of cube specimens
• Supervising the testing of fine and coarse aggregate for both physical and chemical properties
• Undertaking concrete trial mixes
• Ensuring all test results are up to date and checked for compliance with specification (e.g. strength etc.)
• Notification of any non-conforming raw materials or concrete to the Technical Manager
• Preparation of test reports for clients and consultants
• Maintenance of all laboratory equipment
• Ensuring all equipment is calibrated and all calibrations in date
• Ensure the laboratory complies with the company's ISO 9001:2015 quality scheme
• Ensure the health & safety of the laboratory and compliance to OHSAS 18001 health & safety
• Dealing with customer technical complaints
• Investigating route cause of non-conformance
• Develop relationship with customers, consultants and ministries
REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of 5 years experience with a concrete laboratory
• Experience within the GCC is advantageous
• Concrete technical qualifications desirable
• Holder of GCC driving license preferred
• Fluent in English (oral and written)
• IT literate - proficient in Microsoft Office
