Job Description

Main Purpose of the Job:

The Senior Urban Design will provide technical leadership and professional direction to the PMO in the execution of projects in Bahrain. This role will play a key role in all urban planning components on projects by providing oversight to strategic planning studies, urban master planning and urban design.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

• Provide support to the programme management office on all urban and master planning assignments
• Lead the planning and design for urban design projects in the programme
• Support the development of master and urban plans, from concept to detailed design
• Analyse and assess project information to assist in the optimisation of solutions
• Work closely with the project teams to produce and fine-tune reports in compliance with the project's scope
• Coordinate the activities of the team to assist in the preparing of concepts and illustrative master plans
• Provide mentoring and leadership to projects team by conducting urban design workshops

REQUIREMENTS

Candidate Specification

Essential Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum MSc in Urban Planning
• Minimum 15 years' international experience in executing urban design projects and management of which at least 10 years' in planning and urban design and 5 years' in similar works
• Being able to assess situations in the context of the full business ecosystem
• Continuously looking for innovations and improvements to manage workload and accomplish deliverables across individuals, teams and projects
• Using leadership skills to build and nurture relationships and also creating effective working environments
• Able to manage multiple teams with diverse backgrounds on geographically and culturally diverse teams
