JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

* Sound knowledge on all basic civil construction codes for RCC and structural steel, earth work, waterproofing, foundations etc
* Checking and reviewing the setting out survey and levels / elevation at site,
* Preparing or checking / reviewing / approving QA / QC assurance plans / Testing plans with respect to all civil construction works. Monitoring all quality control and testing activities at site to fulfill and meet the requirements of specifications, local authorities such as civil defence, electricity and water authorities, Bahrain Municipality, client etc.
* Review of all Contractor's material submits / fabrication or erection or installation drawings submits and approving the same for procurement / installation
* Inspection of all procured materials stacked at site to be fit for construction including reviewing mill test certificates, test reports at independent lab etc.
* Inspection of all construction works at various stages as per codes and standards, drawings and specifications.
* Inspection of all material samples of all civil, structural works and especially architectural finishing materials, doors, windows, curtain walls etc and mock up installed at site and approving the same.
* Good knowledge on green building / sustainability LEED certification / review of related documents / inspection etc and ensure compliance to the same at all stages.
* Carrying out the welding inspection before, during and after welding operation as per approved test plan, relevant engineering drawing, international standards for structural steel work and as per project defined specifications.
* Inspection of all incoming structural steel materials (including raw steel materials, welding consumables, process equipment) on receipt and compliance to approvals granted by the Engineer.
* Checking orientation & alignment of all foundation anchor bolts as per IFC drawings.
* Final inspection of fabrication & installation of steel structures on site.
* Carry out all inspections as required by the project specifications for all painting, coating activities such as determination of climatic conditions (relative humidity, dew point, substrate temperature etc).
* Monitoring the progress of work on a day to day basis and review the progress reports against the planned dates and review and advise corrective action for project slippage
* Familiarise with all contractual / tender / technical requirement and scope of work in a project from tender / contract documents.
* Check measure and certify the progress %age and quantities of civil construction from the contractor's monthly invoices.
* Capable of independently reviewing claims for Variations submitted by the Contractor (review of BOQs, etc). Experience in QS activities will be an added advantage.
* Reviewing all site related documentation submitted by the Contractor related to Civil, Structural and Architectural works and accord consent to proceed based on the merits of the submission and compliance to the Project Requirements.
* Ensure complete compliance to the Project Specifications, QC Plan and issue NCRs as appropriate and ensure prompt closure and tracking
* Track the performances of all civil contractors / sub-contractors / staff at site and alert / advise the management of any serious lapses with respect to meeting any aspects like technical, quality, progress, resources of plant, labour, safety etc.

REQUIREMENTS

* Sound knowledge, experience and skills in Civil engineering (buildings, infrastructure, industrial developments, Pre-engineered buildings erection, equipment foundations, oil & gas exposure will be an added advantage)
* Familiar with design and Engineering standards, including local regulations
* Able to read, understand all nature of civil engineering drawings, BBS, shop drawings, technical specifications, technical reports etc and all other types of construction related drawings and documents.
* Good knowledge of on-site HSE management. High standard of compliance personally
* Capable of drafting contractual letters, Minutes of Meeting, technical & contractual responses as required.
* Experienced in managing contractors, subcontractors, vendors and people skills
* Minimum previous and current 5 yrs experience in PMC roles at Construction Supervision of industrial developments in the Oil & Gas sector, installation of static and rotating equipment, including interfacing with other disciplines.
* Capable of troubleshooting & problem solving associated with any aspect related to Civil & Structural works at the site.
* Will be required to coordinate with Client & other external stakeholders on progress, technical matters along with the site team
* Approved by the CRPEP, Kingdom of Bahrain will be an added advantage
* Added advantage of having Bahrain Driving License
