Responsibilities
- Supervising construction activities and field personnel related to mechanical, piping, painting, insulation, refractory, and fireproofing disciplines.
- Conducting toolbox talks.
- Monitoring daily construction activities and progress in the area.
- Promoting job site safety, encouraging safe work practices, and rectifying job site hazards immediately. Regular participation in HSE meetings, daily job site walks, conducting toolbox talks, and keeping records.
- Building right first time in line with the QinC initiative and putting maximum efforts to get inspection records signed off with no/minimum punch list items.
- Implementing construction work processes, project procedures, and instructions within assigned operations.
- Preparing reports relating to construction progress, job manpower forecasts, etc.
- Alerting the Construction Manager or Construction Superintendent whenever any aspect of the work does not comply with the contract requirements or is being performed outside of the contract scope.
- Attending subcontract/cost awareness sessions and understanding the responsibility matrices, BOQ, and preambles of subcontract.
- Providing solutions to subcontractor's problems in order to achieve the successful execution of the project. Verifying that the material handed over to the subcontractor is controlled, preserved, and issued for the intended purpose.
- Serving as a coach and mentor for less experienced staff.
- Inputting site construction feedback in the Construction Observation Form.
- Closely monitoring additional work of Site Instruction until work is completed and informing the Subcontracts team for closure of Site Instruction.
- Discipline Specific:
- Renowned knowledge in survey equipment; underground activities such as earthworks/excavation, concrete works, steel works, road works, and other related civil activities.
- Training of subcontractors to build right first time and perform Quality Control inspection on material received, installation in-progress, and final process inspection on the assigned works.
- Able to understand a material packing list and identify the material required for the installation and cross-reference with the PO. Planning activity, preparing material requisitions, and ensuring their withdrawal.
- Providing day-to-day civil/structural support and advice to supervisors. Providing specialist support regarding inspection and meeting with clients or subcontractors.
- Coordinating civil/structural/building activities within assigned scope at the work site.
- Ensuring that necessary certification for materials is available for concrete works.
- Reviewing the project schedules to confirm work sequences, installation progress requirements, and completion milestone plans. Also, identifying other discipline commodities that must be installed to support the civil works.
- Preparation of work, monitoring of punch lists, and redlining of GA drawings and P&IDs. After completion of works ensuring feedback and close work.
- The ability to understand and implement civil/structural drawings (topographic layouts, earthworks/excavation drawings, borehole locations, fencing, paved roads and drainage, underground piping and foundations, architectural and conceptual building drawings, control room layouts, substation layouts, machinery shelters, service platforms, pipe racks, pump foundations, vessel and vessel platform foundations, columns, and other civil/structural drawings).
- Ensuring AFCs are strictly followed by the subcontractor.
- Ensuring implementation of Petrofac's Civil, Structural, and Building procedure.

Knowledge & Qualifications
- 6+ years of civil, structural/building site experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company and with subcontractors.
- Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Experience working in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS/FSU), Middle East, and/or North Africa.
- Prior experience working with a diverse international workforce.
Skills & Competencies
- Good communication skills.
- Familiar with international codes and standards (BS, ASTM, ACI, etc.), concrete/asphalt mix designs, laboratory testing of concrete, asphalt, earthworks, and grouting.
- Knowledge and interpretation skills of building sectional/reinforcement and structural steel drawings.
- Knowledge and experience to solve civil, building, structural issues onsite and provide guidance to subcontractors.
- Analytic and problem-solving skills together with good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- English fluency both spoken and written.
