EIIC has made long-term strategic investments in a number of regional and international companies, such as Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank which began operations in 1998; Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, formed in 1985 and now the third largest bank in the UAE; ADIB – Egypt (formerly National Bank for Development), which was incorporated in Cairo in 1980; and Abu Dhabi National Hotels, founded almost four decades ago, which owns some of the most reputable hotels in the UAE.
