Job Description
- In the absence of the Chief Engineer, carry out all other tasks related to the position that are assigned by the General Management.
- Responsible for the technical operations related to the hotel, both inside and outside of the facilities.
- Ensure that all of the units, facilities and equipment at the hotel are working, maintained and repaired. Operate these in the most economical manner, according to the technical rules and changing needs of the facilities and without compromising the quality promised to customers. Responsible for preparing and implementing the expenditure budget to carry out these operations.
- Ensure that the periodic maintenance and repairs for all of the buildings, machines and equipment in the facilities are carried out according to the planned maintenance and repair methods.
- Assign facility employees with the appropriate qualities to carry out maintenance and repairs or outsource such work to quality technical service providers.
- Coordinate with the Safety Manager to protect the hotel and defend it against fires and natural disasters and train the employees in this area.
- Ensure that the technical service workshops and storage houses are up and running and are used to the maximum extent possible.
- Prepare the daily list of tasks for his/her team.
- Prepare the weekly work schedule for the Technical Service Department.
- Assist the Chief Engineer in preparing the maintenance and repairs programme.
- Strive for establishing good communication with subcontractors and departmental employees.
- Prepare the inventory lists of departmental spare parts, tools and supplies.
- Consult and inform the Chief Engineer for all issues deemed necessary.
- Inspect the hotel building and surroundings according to the fit-out schedules in order to ensure that they comply with applicable laws.
- When necessary, carry out other reasonable tasks that may be requested.
- Manage and audit his department according to the policies, procedures and instructions identified by the Chief Engineer, set targets, and communicate and ensure adoption of these targets.
- Ensure that all employees at the hotel take the measures required for occupational and worker health.
- Must take all measures required for occupational and worker health and comply with all measures taken.
- Take part in the Emergency Response Teams and the Fire Extinguishing Team.
- To predict that all activities and to be purchased all equipment and belongings may create detriment for the environment, to join all activities which are organized to protect biological diversity and share the responsibilities, share the individual responsibilities in order to increase environmental knowledge and to carry on necessary trainings. To provide minimum consumption of currently used items and equipment (paper, printed materials, etc.).
- To implement necessary warnings and departmental trainings in order to save energy inside the facility. To carry on implementing decisions which were taken for saving energy. To predict effects of environment and efficiency of energy on purchased equipment.
- To implement his responsibilities in order to eliminate and collect waste in a proper way, reduce environmental pollution and harmful effects to the environment and lead the staff.
- To provide carrying chemicals safely, carrying, storing and using in accordance with laws, controlling and reducing chemical contamination.
- Carry out all responsibilities related to the quality management and food safety management systems implemented at the facilities.
- Carry out all other duties assigned by managers and hotel management not specified in the job description.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor Degree
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years of related work experience or 2 years work experience in a lower position and experience with applying the main principles and/or different methods.
- Foreign Language: Intermediate level English.
- Courses and Training: Requires sufficient theoretical and practical background and attendance in courses and seminars in the related field.
- Computer Literacy: MS Office applications, automation knowledge.
Skills
- Requires good command and monitoring of technical developments and practices.
- Expected to offer consulting to other employees when needed.
- Responsible for carrying out and coordinating complex activities in different fields.
- Expected to acquire through technical training the expertise and long-term experience concerning methods, advanced techniques, special equipment and work processes in the related field.
