About the job:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced civil engineer (structures department) with more than 7 years of professional experience to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and supervision of structural engineering works across multidisciplinary projects. This role involves close coordination with architects, mechanical/electrical engineers, project managers, and contractors to deliver innovative, safe, and cost-effective structural solutions.


Key responsibilities/deliverables:

  • Lead the design and analysis of structural systems for buildings, infrastructure, and specialized projects from concept through to issued for construction (IFC) stage.
  • Prepare and review detailed structural engineering documentation, including structural drawings, design calculations, reinforcement detailing, general notes, and bills of quantities.
  • Perform structural analysis and design using international codes and standards (ACI, AISC, BS, Eurocodes, and relevant regional codes).
  • Ensure safety, serviceability, and cost-effectiveness in structural solutions, considering constructability and sustainability.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (architecture, geotechnical, MEP, and construction management) to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, vendor documentation, and material submittals for compliance with project requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and support during construction, inspection, testing, and commissioning phases.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the structural engineering team.
  • Stay updated on modern structural systems, materials, and software tools to enhance design efficiency and quality.

    • Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in structural design and supervision within consultancy or contracting firms.
  • Proven expertise in reinforced concrete and steel structures for high-rise buildings, bridges, and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of international and regional structural design codes (ACI, AISC, BS, Eurocodes, SBC, etc.).
  • Proficiency in structural design software such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, Robot, and Revit Structure.
  • Solid background in preparing and reviewing technical reports, drawings, and construction documents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex structural challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience coordinating with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

    • Language proficiency requirements:

  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required.

    • Knowledge and functional competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of structural design methodologies, analysis tools, and construction practices.
  • Familiarity with project management software (Primavera, MS Project) is a plus.
  • Ability to prepare cost-effective and optimized structural solutions without compromising safety and quality.
  • Excellent decision-making and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills with the ability to guide junior engineers.
