Cost Accountant

Job description

Responsible for ensuring that the cost system functionality and performance meet current and future business requirements.

Key KPIs include:

• Periodic inventory review.
• Periodic closure and updates of projects.
• Updated costing sheet/project.
• Prepare monthly cost of sales figures by analyzing material, direct expenses.
• Assist the cost section head in preparing monthly journal entries for cost of sales.
• Maintain a weighted average cost inventory system and follow the established valuation method.
• Assist in the quarterly and year-end physical inventory process.
• Review and audit the costing system, including costs for purchased material inventory.
• Prepare a report for the cost section head and recommend changes.
• Review the costing of all inventory items.
• Analyze inventory to ensure transactions are recorded accurately.
• Analyze and review inventory costing, verify the reasonableness of standard and weighted average cost.
• Actively involved in the implementation of the company's inventory cycle count program.
• Applying revenue recognition in coordination with IFRS 15.
• Allocate the landed cost, which relates to shipment.
• Assist in the closing of the financial statements.
• Review of work orders for accuracy and participate in implementing the company's inventory cycle count, being an essential link between the operation and accounting.

Technical skills

A Bachelor of Commerce and a Post Graduate Certificate in Finance or Accounting are an asset.

Knowledge in cost management concepts and terminologies.

Experienced in budget development and implementation.

Good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

2-3 years' experience in the finance or accounting field.
