JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
Job Summary
To lead and manage BIM processes for bridge design projects, ensuring the effective implementation of BIM standards, coordination, and high-quality model production. The role involves close collaboration with structural, geotechnical, and civil teams, with a focus on delivering technically sound and coordinated bridge solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the creation, management, and coordination of 3D BIM models (bridges, piers, abutments, retaining walls, etc.) using Revit, Civil 3D, or other relevant platforms.
• Ensure models are accurate, well-organized, and compliant with project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
• Coordinate with other disciplines (roads, utilities, geotechnical, drainage, etc.) to detect and resolve clashes using tools like Navisworks.
• Support design reviews, interdisciplinary meetings, and model coordination workshops.
• Oversee the extraction of 2D drawings and details from BIM models in compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Review and verify shop drawings and construction documentation derived from models.
• Ensure all work complies with company and client BIM standards.
• Provide guidance and technical support to junior BIM modelers and engineers.
• Assist in training sessions and skill development across the bridge and BIM teams.
• Support implementation of parametric modeling, automation (e.g., Dynamo), and digital workflows to enhance productivity.
• Assist in integrating BIM with structural analysis software when applicable (e.g., Midas Civil & CSI Bridge).
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Master’s preferred.• Minimum 10 years of experience in BIM implementation.
• Proficiency in BIM software: Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Dynamo and AutoCAD.
• Experience with coordination tools and collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM 360, ProjectWise, ACC).
• Solid understanding of bridge design principles and construction methodologies.
• Familiarity with industry BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650, PAS 1192).
