Role overview
Advansys is seeking a skilled PostgreSQL support engineer to provide end-to-end database administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. You’ll support mission-critical systems, ensure reliability and data integrity, and work closely with development and infrastructure teams to optimize PostgreSQL environments.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in production and staging environments.
- Monitor database performance and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
- Implement and manage backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
- Handle incident response, root cause analysis, and database optimization.
- Collaborate with developers to optimize SQL queries and schema design.
- Ensure database security, patching, and high availability.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL administration and tuning.
- Proficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL.
- Experience with replication, clustering, and backup mechanisms.
- Solid Linux system administration background.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (pg_stat_statements, Prometheus, Grafana).
