About the role

Mission

The main mission of the presales technical engineer is to create detailed technical solutions that align with customer needs and drive successful sales outcomes. Key objectives include providing exceptional technical guidance, fostering strong customer relationships, and ensuring seamless collaboration with internal teams to deliver high-quality proposals and support.

Main activities

  • Analyze customer RFPs and requirements to design technical solutions that meet their needs.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed technical proposals, including solution architecture, sizing, and integration plans.
  • Participate in meetings with customers alongside sales and marketing teams to present and explain technical solutions.
  • Conduct technical workshops, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept sessions for customers.
  • Act as a technical advisor during the sales cycle, addressing customer questions and objections.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, product, delivery) to validate the feasibility and alignment of proposed solutions.
  • Support the transition from presales to delivery by providing knowledge transfer and technical support to project teams.

About you

Within OINIS/Services, the "Mobile Services" department is responsible for the architecture, engineering, construction, deployment, and operation of all international mobile services (roaming, messaging, 5G CNaaS), which are one of the growth drivers for international wholesale. The department's ambition is to drive the software transformation of mobile services as part of the move to 5G.

The Mobile Core Network Team oversees the architecture, engineering, deployment, and operation of the mobile core network.

Key skills, knowledge and abilities

Required skills:

  • Solid understanding of telecom and IT architectures (IP networks, cloud solutions, security, unified communications, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of mobile networks, encompassing protocols, architectures, and interworking capabilities.
  • Mastery of LTE/5G architectures and engineering concepts. Knowledge of 3GPP standards related to mobile core networks.
  • Practical experience with key mobile core network elements, including AMF/MME, SMF/SPGW-C, UPF/SPGW-U, and others.
  • Knowledge of OSS and BSS tools.
  • Understanding of 4G/5G RAN radio networks.
  • Knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6 architectures, including IP routing, QoS, MPLS, and VPN technologies.
  • Awareness of security measures and technologies pertinent to mobile core networks.
  • Familiarity with RFP processes, bid management, and presales methodologies.
  • Experience in designing and sizing technical solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Proficiency in drafting technical proposals, solution descriptions, and integration plans.
  • Ability to create and deliver impactful technical presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications and architectures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address customer challenges.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Resilience and stress management, able to handle pressure during tight deadlines or complex negotiations.
  • Fluent in English (French is a plus); additional languages are an asset.
