About the role

Overview

At Orange Cyberdefense Egypt, we are expanding our dedicated team for one of our major worldwide tobacco customers. We're looking for a Senior L2 Network Security Engineer who combines strong technical expertise with project leadership skills. This role will manage complex technical implementations such as hardware migrations, new site deployments, and major infrastructure upgrades while ensuring operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Technical Operations

  • Monitor, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise network and security infrastructure, including:
    • Firewalls: FortiGate
    • Load Balancers: F5
    • Secure Access: Ivanti
    • Networking Devices: Cisco Core and Access Switches, Routers, Wireless Controllers, Cisco Meraki, Fortigate SD-WAN
  • Act as an escalation point for L1 engineers and resolve advanced technical issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring incidents.
  • Validate and implement configuration changes, patches, and upgrades with minimal disruption.

Project & implementation ownership

  • Lead technical implementation for large-scale projects such as:
    • Hardware migrations
    • New site deployments
    • Network and security infrastructure upgrades
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define technical scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Assess risks and ensure compliance with change management processes.
  • Prepare and validate implementation plans, rollback strategies, and documentation.

Customer engagement

  • Maintain close communication with customer stakeholders during project execution.
  • Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and technical challenges.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for technical decisions related to project delivery.

Leadership & mentorship

  • Guide and mentor L1 engineers and junior L2 team members.
  • Promote best practices and knowledge sharing within the team.

About you

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience: Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience in network and security engineering. Proven experience in managing technical implementations for large or complex projects.

Skills:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project coordination and technical leadership capabilities.
  • Proficiency in implementing configuration changes and patches across multiple technologies.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills for customer-facing interactions.
  • Fluent in English (writing and speaking).

Certifications (highly desirable):

  • CCNP or higher
  • F5 LTM
  • Fortinet NSE
  • ITIL Foundation or higher for process management
