About the role

Network and security operations

At Orange Cyberdefense Egypt, we're expanding our dedicated team for one of our major worldwide tobacco customers. We're looking for senior network security engineers with strong hands-on expertise and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise network and security infrastructure, including:
    • Firewalls: FortiGate Manager and analyzer
    • Load balancers: F5
    • Secure access: Ivanti
    • Networking devices: Cisco core and access switches, routers, access points, wireless controllers, Cisco Meraki, and FortiGate SD-WAN
  • Act as an escalation point for complex incidents from L1 and L2 engineers, ensuring timely root cause analysis and resolution within SLAs.
  • Lead routine system health checks, performance tuning, and optimization of network and security devices.
  • Drive technical and management escalations, ensuring progress toward resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide advanced remote support and change management assistance to customers on a 24x7 basis as required.
  • Oversee service incidents and changes, assessing risk and implementing requests through change management tools.
  • Perform advanced root cause analysis (RCA) and design preventive measures for recurring issues.
  • Validate and implement solution releases (changes, upgrades, updates, patches, migrations) with minimal disruption.
  • Manage vendor communication for complex problems, patches, and maintenance, acting as Technical Assistance Center (TAC) lead.
  • Ensure adherence to customer SLAs for incident, change, and problem management.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers (L1/L2), promoting knowledge sharing and best practices within the team.
  • Participate in infrastructure improvement projects and contribute to design discussions for network and security architecture.

About you

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, network engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in network and security engineering, with expertise in:

  • FortiGate firewalls, manager and analyzer
  • F5 load balancers
  • Ivanti secure access
  • Cisco networking (switches, routers, wireless controllers, Meraki) are a plus
  • FortiGate SD-WAN is a plus

Skills:

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills for complex network and security issues.
  • Strong proficiency in implementing configuration changes and patches across multiple technologies.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor junior team members.
  • Strong ownership, accountability, and decision-making skills.
  • Fluent in English (writing and speaking).

Certifications (highly desirable):

  • F5 LTM
  • CCNP
  • Fortinet
  • Additional certifications such as PCNSE or equivalent are a plus.
