Overview of the role

The Customer Service Assistant at the Information Desk is responsible for providing support and assistance to customers in a friendly and professional manner at IKEA Egypt. This role requires the individual to represent the IKEA brand effectively, maintain store standards, and contribute to customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries and complaints efficiently. Success in this position involves maintaining high customer service standards, improving customer service processes, and embodying the values of the IKEA brand.

What you will do

Customers

  • Greet and welcome customers upon arrival at the store.
  • Answer customer inquiries and provide guidance on shopping at IKEA.
  • Handle routine customer complaints promptly and courteously.
  • Log customer feedback on CRM system to build a knowledge base of frequent complaints and inquiries with relevant solutions.
  • Ensure customers are dealt with professionally to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
  • Make announcements and page the person visitors have asked to see.
  • Ensure customer bags are stored safely and securely.
  • Ensure shopping tools and catalogues are available for customers.
  • Provide bags and trolleys as appropriate.

Operational

  • Adhere to all system procedures as per policy and procedure.
  • Provide Customer Senior with constant suggestions for improvements.
  • Provide customers with catalogues upon request.
  • Understand the role of shopping tools in increasing sales.
  • Communicate with Duty Manager regarding complaints that require management assistance.
  • Review standard operating procedures regularly.

Required skills to be successful

  • Proficient in dealing with customers and handling inquiries.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess customer feedback and complaints.
  • Effective communication skills with customers and team members.
  • Problem-solving abilities to resolve customer issues efficiently.

What qualifies you for the role

  • High school education.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience as a Customer Service Assistant or Receptionist.
  • Effective communication and customer handling skills.
