Specialist (System Engineer)

Job description

Manage and maintain both Windows Server and Linux environments, ensuring optimal system stability, performance, and security.
Execute system updates, patches, and configuration changes as required to keep systems up-to-date.
Implement and enforce security best practices, including access control, system hardening, and continuous log monitoring.
Administer and maintain VMware virtualization environments, ensuring efficient performance and resource allocation.
Oversee backup solutions, ensuring regular backups, disaster recovery plans, and reliable data restoration processes.
Implement redundancy and failover strategies to ensure business continuity in case of system failure.
Maintain and optimize IBM storage solutions, ensuring data integrity and high-performance storage operations.
Administer HP servers, including performing hardware upgrades, firmware updates, and troubleshooting any issues.
Conduct capacity planning and track storage growth trends to ensure resources are effectively allocated.

Skills

Educational background

B.Sc. in the field of Computer Science or relevant field.

Experience

3 years of experience in system administration, virtualization, and storage management.

Technical proficiency

• Strong expertise in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
• Experience with backup solutions such as Veeam, Veritas, or NetBackup.
• Familiarity with IBM storage solutions (e.g., IBM Flash System, Storwize) and HP server hardware.
• Networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and routing.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Relevant certifications such as MCSE, RHCSA/RHCE, VCP, or CCNA are a plus.
