JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE

Employment: Full Time

Role Summary:

- Determine and minimize the company's worldwide tax liability with the highest integrity while complying with worldwide tax laws.
- Intermediate level professional positions requiring subject matter knowledge and experience, more independence in problem solving and decision making.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Responsible for developing and directing the improvement, alignment, simplification, implementation and standardization of tax processes in the region.
- Supervise and Review CIT compliance, ensure appropriate controls, processes and procedures are applied.
- Understand the operations of the business, policies & procedures, and accounting records to ensure correct and timely compliance with tax legislation across the assigned region(s).
- Managing the relationship(s) with tax advisors to ensure proper application of efficient and effective tax processes with regards to tax audit planning, proactive management of potential tax exposures/risks.
- Responding to inquires related to tax raised from the business and ensuring that tax risks are proactively identified and mitigated.
- Prepare/review income tax provisions and calculations, tax returns, tax payments, return to accrual calculations, deferred tax calculations and account reconciliations for assigned region(s).
- Prepare annual return to accrual (RTA) analysis. Examine and evaluate deferred tax and current tax payable balances after journal entries are posted to ensure balances are supported with the required analysis and documentation.
- Monitor tax, accounting and regulatory legislative developments and proactively suggest corrective actions to ensure compliance with the relevant laws and regulations.
- Manage and lead direct staff to ensure that results are achieved as desired.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications/Requirements:

- 7+ Years of experience in the fields of tax (preferably either as an in house multinational tax adviser or Big 4 firms)
- Good understanding of local tax regulations (CIT/WHT/VAT) & accounting standards in MEA regions.
- Strong controllership analytical skills - able to link financial results to operational performance drives
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills in both Arabic and English
- Demonstrated experience in project management
- Experience leading cross-functional projects / teams
- Ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations
- Ability to build good partnership with all stakeholders in the processes
- Team Leadership
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Good ability to stay updated with market trends and external changes to incorporate knowledge in our internal processes
- Must be willing to travel a minimum of 30% of the time
