Purpose of the job
To manage and maintain VMware virtualization environment.
Duties and responsibilities
Install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Servers, Virtual Machines, and storage.
Maintain and troubleshoot ESXi hosts, including hardware components such as CPU, memory, storage, and networking related to the VMware environment.
Monitor systems and servers performance, resource utilization, and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance and scalability of the virtual infrastructure.
Implement high availability solutions using HA clusters and failover mechanisms to ensure business continuity.
Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies for Virtual Machines using Site Recovery Manager.
Implement and manage VMware Horizon.
Ensure the security of the VMware environment by applying security patches on a regular basis, managing user access, and other security measures.
Develop and implement automation tasks using VMware Orchestration to streamline and enhance VMware administration tasks.
Manage Virtual Machine deployment, configuration, and migration across multiple datacenters.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues related to VMware products.
Job specification
Education
Bachelor's degree in engineering or any related field from a recognized university.
Experience
5 years experience working in IT.
Proficient in VMware vSphere, including ESXi, vCenter Server, vSAN, and VMware Operations Management.
Experience with VMware Site Recovery Manager.
Experience with VMware Horizon.
Experience with VMware Orchestration.
Strong understanding of networking concepts and technologies, including VLANs, switches, and firewalls.
Knowledge of storage systems and SAN/NAS configurations.
Experience with backup and recovery solutions for virtual environments.
Proficiency in scripting languages, such as PowerShell and PowerCLI.
Extensive experience with Windows and Linux OS.
