Wastewater Project Manager

Position overview

Job workplace: Kigali, Rwanda

As the wastewater project manager, you will oversee the successful execution of wastewater treatment projects from initiation to completion. This role involves coordinating project teams, managing budgets, schedules, and resources, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. Your leadership will be crucial in driving project success, maintaining quality control, and fostering effective communication with all stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage project plans, including scope of work, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams comprised of engineers, environmental specialists, and construction managers.
• Monitor project progress and performance, making adjustments as necessary to stay on track.
• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with technical specifications, standards, and safety regulations.
• Conduct risks analysis and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project risks.
• Prepare detailed project reports and documentation for stakeholders, including budgets, forecasts, and progress updates.
• Facilitate project meetings and maintain open lines of communication with all project participants.
• Drive continuous improvement by staying informed about advancements in wastewater treatment technologies and practices.

Qualifications

• More than 12 projects experience of wastewater treatment and sewer network.
• At least a master’s degree in civil engineering or construction management or sanitary engineering or environmental engineering or hydraulic engineering for each position.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in project management related to wastewater treatment or environmental engineering projects.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale wastewater projects.
• Strong knowledge of wastewater policies, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
• Valid driving license.
