JOB DESCRIPTION / ROLE
The Position:
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced Quantity Surveyor to work in the Caribbean. To help ensure the Group’s continued success they are looking to appoint a seasoned Senior QS to help oversee their projects.
Responsibilities:
• Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
• Scrutinizing labor and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
• Liaising with Project managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
• Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
• Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.
• Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
• Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
• Traveling from the office to various sites as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Management, or similar.
• 7+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor working for contactors.
• Pursuit of Professional Qualifications preferred.
• Current / Previous Caribbean or International experience is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Sound knowledge of construction.
• Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
• A valid driver's license.
• Great networking abilities.
This is an immediate role but the client is still only interested in candidates who have demonstrated a clear career and want to work on a permanent basis.
