Job description
The Mechanic Supervisor oversees all mechanical maintenance and repair activities in the hotel, ensuring optimal performance of equipment and systems such as HVAC, kitchen machinery, laundry machines, elevators, and other mechanical installations. This role supervises the mechanical team, coordinates with other departments, and ensures all work meets safety standards and hotel quality expectations.
- Lead and manage the mechanical team, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and standard operating procedures
- Prepare work schedules and manage manpower to ensure smooth operations
- Oversee routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment, including HVAC systems, elevators, pumps, kitchen and laundry machinery
- Diagnose mechanical faults and implement prompt corrective actions
- Ensure preventative maintenance programs are followed to reduce breakdowns
- Supervise mechanical installations, upgrades, and renovation projects
- Review technical drawings, manuals, and equipment specifications
- Estimate material and labor requirements and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Ensure all mechanical work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and hotel standards
- Conduct regular safety inspections and monitor the proper use of tools and equipment
- Report hazards or incidents to management promptly
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical qualification
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, and repair techniques
- Leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and drawings
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
